Christmas Presents!

This year, I made Christmas presents for my family and friends. I designed, printed and assembled Christmas cards (They are inspired by Jan Brett's The Wild Christmas Reindeer). A friend of mine hosted a wonderful Christmas party, so I made each of the other guests a present. The boys got brownies wrapped to look like cigars (with cigar related quotes inside).

These were just a few of the things I remembered to take a picture of! Whoops!!

Slow but steady progress!

Just finished a week of Kid/ my free time I worked on the driftwood commission and the fox painting. The fox is still a work in progress. I also spent a lot of time with the 2 family cats who were incredibly people-friendly and adorable to boot.

So much cleaning!!

I was unproductive art-wise this weekend, but I now have a VERY clean room and you can now see the floor! Huzzah!! Here are a few pics taken this winter season that have sparked some inspiration.....I'd like to replicate these colors in a painting or two! I conveniently found some mini canvases while cleaning that would be perfect!

Driftwood Art

A dear friend commissioned a driftwood painting of chickadees. Sometimes driftwood inspires the subject matter that will be painted on it. I had to find the right piece in my handpicked stash of unique nature-made treasures from the beaches of Lake Ontario. In this case I saw some perfect opportunities to use the color and texture of the driftwood itself to suggest trees and entangled branches. I intend to create a winter scene with chickadees throughout the branches.

Willow decided she wanted to get in on the photoshoot action c:
Can't wait to see how this comes out!
